Round and Round

A picture book about home

Hardback cover, digital print

As someone who often struggles with navigating different circumstances, my friends jokingly say I must have forgotten to retrieve my GPS in my mother's womb. This inspired me to create a story about a goldfish. I wanted to address a question that has intrigued me for a long time: why do goldfish swim in circles endlessly? This story aims to explain that behavior by suggesting that the fish are actually searching for their home within their tank.

Using a goldfish and its characteristic of forgetfulness, I crafted a narrative where everything on the planet has its own GPS, except for the goldfish, whose GPS is missing. This ties into the idea of finding "home," even though the fish is already there.

Growing up with pet goldfish and shrimps, I've always observed their actions. Do they know where their home is? This question has been a constant curiosity for me, and my story seeks to explore this idea.
