Drawing Dialogue
A workshop investigating whether drawing is really a universal language.
People always say visual language is a universal language where it goes beyond words, it helps people connect no matter what their mother tongue is. Like Egyptian hieroglyphs, which combine symbols and sounds, and ancient Chinese characters which originated from drawings.
In the workshop, we imagine going back in time to five thousand years ago, when english is not yet invented and we can only have conversations using pictures. Will you be able to survive?
Pairing up with someone who speaks a different language and have daily conversations using only images from what do you have for breakfast to topics with deeper meaning, we invite others to interpret our experiences, sparking a connection beyond words. These activities push us to think differently, using symbols, colors, and details that reflect our cultures and mother tongue.
